07:50 AM EDT, 04/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- New Found Gold Corp. ( NFGC ) on Wednesday reported the results from 85 diamond drill holes targeting the Appleton Fault Zone (AFZ) within the Queensway project in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Highlights include 14.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 5 meters at the Honeypot discovery, as well as 43.1 g/t gold over 2 meters at the Jackpot discovery.
"Honeypot and Jackpot were two discoveries that were somewhat of a surprise in terms of their mineralizing strength and continuity given they are 300 meters and 340 meters east of the AFZ, respectively," said Melissa Render, New Found's vice president of exploration.
Results also include 1.24 g/t gold over 13.75 meters at the Everest area, 4.91 g/t gold over 8.05 meters at the Golden Joint zone and 1.49 g/t gold over 13.15 meters at the Lotto Main discovery.
New Found is currently undertaking a 650,000-meter drill program at Queensway, with assays pending for about 3,200 meters of core.
