05:44 AM EDT, 09/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nexstar Media Group ( NXST ) said Thursday it is indefinitely pulling Jimmy Kimmel's show off Walt Disney's ( DIS ) ABC television network following the talk show host's recent comments on the killing of Charlie Kirk.

"Mr. Kimmel's comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse," said Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar's broadcasting division.

The company said it will replace the late-night show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.

US President Donald Trump lauded the decision in a post on the Truth Social platform.

"The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
