Next Hydrogen Completes Key Durability Test for Electrolyzer Cells; Shares Jumped 10% on Friday

08:59 AM EDT, 10/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Next Hydrogen Solutions ( NXHSF ) said Tuesday that it completed an extended durability test of its GEN2 electrolysis cells used in the production of green hydrogen.

The company said the GEN2 cells will now be deployed in Next Hydrogen electrolyzers at customer sites for commercial operation.

According to Next Hydrogen, the GEN2 cells will be applied to its modular product line in sizes of 0.75MW, 1.5MW and 2.25MW and offer the best commercially available performance features.

"This represents a significant milestone for us as we move into product commercialization," President and CEO Raveel Afzaal said. "We are also upsizing our products and plan to demonstrate an even larger and more efficient GEN3 product version in 2025 based on leveraging our GEN2 success."

The company's share price jumped 10% on Friday from near 52-week lows to close at $0.43.
