04:45 PM EDT, 06/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- NextEra Energy (NEE) said late Monday it plans to sell $2 billion of equity units at $50 per unit.
Each unit will comprise a contract to buy NextEra Energy shares and a 5% undivided beneficial ownership interest in a NextEra Energy Capital Holdings ( NEE ) debenture due June 1, 2029, to be issued in the principal amount of $1,000, the company said.
Net proceeds are expected to be about $1.94 billion and will be added to NextEra Energy Capital's ( NEE ) general funds. NextEra Energy Capital ( NEE ) will use the general funds to back investments in energy and power projects and for other general corporate purposes.
