07:58 AM EDT, 08/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has closed a preliminary investigation into front suspension failures in 74,918 Tesla (TSLA) vehicles, the agency said.
The probe by the agency's Office of Defects Investigation began in 2020 and focused on complaints related to the failure of front suspension fore links in 2015-2017 Tesla Model S and 2016-2017 Model X vehicles.
The NHTSA said while one minor crash with no injuries was linked to the 426 reported fore link failures, no failures of this part resulted in a loss of vehicle control in testing and reported cases.
