02:29 PM EDT, 03/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nike ( NKE ) will supply kit for Germany's national teams and support German football in its entirety from 2027 to 2034 following a kit partnership deal, the German football association, DFB, said Thursday.

"Awarding a contract to our future kit supplier Nike ( NKE ) is the result of a transparent and non-discriminatory tender procedure," said DFB managing director Holger Blask.

Blask also said that Nike ( NKE ) made by far the "best" financial offer and impressed with their vision, including commitment to supporting amateur and grassroots sport.

The partnership will mark an end to Germany's longstanding association with Adidas ( ADDYY ) .

"We have a current contract with the German Football Association DFB until the end of 2026," an Adidas ( ADDYY ) spokesperson told MT Newswires in an emailed response. "We were informed...today that the federation will have a new supplier from 2027 onwards."
