07:45 AM EDT, 05/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nippon Steel announced Friday it has pushed back the estimated closing date of its acquisition of US Steel (X) following its receipt of an additional request for information by the US Department of Justice.

The company now estimates the closing date to occur in the third or fourth quarter of 2024, compared to the previous guidance of the second or third quarter.
