Nippon Steel says no layoffs, no plant closures at US Steel till 2026

TOKYO, March 15 (Reuters) - Japan's Nippon Steel ( NISTF )

said on Friday that under its proposed takeover of U.S.

Steel there would be no layoffs and no plant closures

until September 2026, under certain conditions.

Nippon Steel ( NISTF ) said in the statement it is progressing through

regulatory review of the deal and determined to see it through.
