Nippon Steel's 9-month net profit down 18% to $2.4 billion

TOKYO, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Nippon Steel ( NISTF ), Japan's

biggest steel maker, on Thursday posted an 18% drop in profit

for the nine months ended December to 362 billion yen ($2.4

billion).

It kept its net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending

in March unchanged at 310 billion yen.

($1 = 152.4600 yen)
