10:46 AM EDT, 08/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- NiSource ( NI ) unit Northern Indiana Public Service Company said Monday that the Cavalry solar energy project in Indiana is now operational, with the new 200-megawatt facility now producing enough energy to power around 60,000 homes.
The Cavalry Solar project in Indiana's White County also includes around 45 megawatts of battery energy storage capability, the company said.
NiSource ( NI ) previously completed the 200-megawatt Indiana Crossroads solar project, also located in White County, as well as the first phase of the 265-megawatt Dunns Bridge Solar in Jasper County. The 435-megawatt Dunns Bridge II Solar project currently is under construction by a subsidiary of NextEra Energy (NEE).
