07:33 AM EDT, 10/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nokia's ( NOK ) research arm, Nokia Bell Labs, and Vale (VALE) said Thursday they are signing a research agreement to implement a cognitive monitoring network service for mining operations, building on their existing relationship at Vale's iron-ore mine in Carajas, Brazil.

The connectivity mining program is expected to further enhance productivity and safety for workers by utilizing data from mine production systems, the company said.

The project is expected to use the Nokia Bell Labs' Industrial eXperience research platform.
