06:38 AM EDT, 09/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nokia ( NOK ) will work with Norwegian firm Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace to help improve tactical communication offerings for defense organizations and allied nations, the companies said Thursday.

The partners plan to "simplify" the deployment of the 5G technology in tactical systems and pursue opportunities in European Defense Fund initiatives, they said.

In the long term, Nokia ( NOK ) and Kongsberg will look at future technologies such as Nokia's ( NOK ) 6G "network as a sensor" to improve situational awareness and military readiness, the companies said.
