08:01 AM EDT, 10/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nokia Oyj ( NOK ) , Windstream Wholesale and Colt Technology Services have collaborated to build an 800-gigabit ethernet service trial connecting the UK and US through London and Chicago, the companies said Monday in a joint statement.

After connecting Colt and Windstream's optic fiber networks, the trial was delivered using Nokia's ( NOK ) routing platforms, the companies said.

An 800 GbE bandwidth can support advanced network applications like AI data centers, content delivery networks and financial data hub connections, the companies said. Nokia ( NOK ), Windstream and Colt are now exploring offerings to market the service, according to the statement.

Financial details of the collaboration were not shared.
