03:57 AM EST, 11/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nokia ( NOK ) said Wednesday it agreed a five-year extension with Telefonica Germany (TEF) to upgrade the carrier's radio access network and support 5G expansion through 2030.
The updated deal brings in Nokia's ( NOK ) Cloud RAN systems alongside its AirScale equipment, including Habrok Massive MIMO radios for the n78 band, Pandion multi-band radio heads, small cells, and new baseband units, the company said.
Nokia ( NOK ) will also deploy its Interleaved Passive Active Antenna and provide maintenance and network optimization services, it said.
Telefonica ( TEF ) will continue using Nokia's ( NOK ) MantaRay network management software to run both traditional and cloud-based radio networks, the company added.
Shares of Nokia ( NOK ) were down by nearly 1%, while shares of Telefonica ( TEF ) were up over 2.3% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
