03:46 AM EST, 11/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nokia ( NOK ) said Monday it won a three-year contract from Telecom Italia, or TIM, to expand and modernize the latter's 5G network in more regions after a tender, allowing rural coverage and enterprise connectivity.
The rollout will use Nokia's ( NOK ) AirScale equipment and ReefShark technology to help meet TIM's sustainability targets, the company said.
Hardware will include Habrok 32 Massive MIMO radios, Pandion portfolio of FDD multi-band remote radio heads, and its 4G/5G baseband capacity card to increase capacity and efficiency, Nokia ( NOK ) said.
TIM will also extend Nokia's ( NOK ) MantaRay self-optimizing software to automate and improve network performance, it said.
