Norfolk Southern Appoints Mark George as Chief Executive

04:47 AM EDT, 09/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Norfolk Southern ( NSC ) said Wednesday its board has appointed Chief Financial Officer Mark George as chief executive, effective immediately.

This follows the board's unanimous decision to terminate CEO Alan Shaw and Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary Nabanita Nag based on preliminary findings from an ongoing investigation that determined their violation of company policies.

The company said that Jason Zampi will serve as acting finance chief and Jason Morris will serve as corporate secretary.
