Dec 30 (Reuters) - Railroad operator Norfolk Southern ( NSC )

said on Tuesday that a commercial ‌power outage at ​its

Chicago Landers intermodal ‍facility was impacting ⁠operations ⁠and

it has granted an ‌extra free ​day for all grounded shipments

currently ⁠on the ‍terminal.

The ​outage comes as Winter Storm Ezra continues ‍to wreak

havoc across the U.S. Northeast, disrupting road and air

transportation ​and ‍causing major power outages.

The storm's harsh ​winds, low visibility, icy conditions and

blowing snow have contributed to widespread delays and

operational ​challenges for transportation firms.
