02:42 PM EDT, 04/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Norfolk Southern ( NSC ) minority shareholder Neuberger Berman is backing all seven nominees from Ancora Catalyst Institutional and its affiliates for election to the company's board.

Neuberger Berman raised concerns with the company's railroad performance, compared to peers like CSX, and safety and said a change in management and a board refresh was warranted.

"Given limited research and development or the introduction of new products in the rail industry, we believe a strong management team that is capable of driving consistent operational performance is that much more critical to both customer satisfaction and stock performance success," Neuberger Berman said on its website.

Norfolk Southern ( NSC ) and Ancora did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
