Norfolk Southern to Close Intermodal Facility Ingates to Canadian National Railway

12:15 PM EDT, 08/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Norfolk Southern ( NSC ) said Friday that it will close all intermodal facility ingates to Canadian National Railway's ( CNI ) Canadian destinations effective immediately.

The decision comes after Canadian National Railway ( CNI ) issued an embargo on all intermodal shipments effective Friday ahead of potential labor work stoppages on Aug. 22, Norfolk Southern ( NSC ) said.

The company added that it is closely monitoring the Canadian railroad labor negotiations.
