07:07 AM EDT, 07/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Northland Power ( NPIFF ) over the holiday weekend closed the sale of La Lucha, a 130-megawatt solar facility in Durango, Mexico that began commercial operations a year ago, to Cometa Energia.

Northland first announced in March the sale of its 100% stake in La Lucha. The move is part of the company's strategy to focus on its core markets, simplify the business, and free up capital for other uses. Proceeds will initially be used to repay money drawn on a revolving credit facility and for general corporate purposes
