11:24 AM EST, 03/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Norwegian Cruise Line ( NCLH ) guided 2026 earnings below Wall Street's projections as the cruise operator flagged "execution missteps" and pricing headwinds, sending its shares lower in Monday trade.
The company anticipates full-year adjusted earnings of about $2.38 per share, compared with the FactSet-polled consensus of $2.57. For 2025, adjusted EPS rose to $2.11 from $1.77 the year before.
The stock was down 9% intraday.
The decline came on a day marked by negative sentiment across travel stocks after the US and Israel launched military strikes across Iran on Saturday. Iran retaliated by targeting US military bases across a number of countries in the Middle East.
"We entered 2026 slightly behind our ideal booking curve in certain itineraries, creating near-term pressure on pricing and yield, which is evident in our guidance," Chief Financial Officer Mark Kempa said during an earnings call, according to a FactSet transcript. "We expect net yield growth in the first quarter to decline approximately 1.6% as higher occupancy was more than offset by pricing pressure."
The company said it is operating below the optimal booking range following "certain execution missteps."
For the ongoing quarter, the company expects adjusted EPS of about $0.16, while analysts are looking for $0.14, as adjusted net cruise cost, excluding fuel, is projected to decline by roughly 0.8%.
For the December quarter, adjusted EPS rose to $0.28 from $0.19 a year earlier, above the Street's $0.26 view. Revenue grew 6% to $2.24 billion, trailing the consensus of $2.34 billion.
"Implications on bookings being below target are that the company will continue to need to rely on promotions (or possibly discount) to fill ships as ships always sail full and an environment of increased promotional activity is not a positive for anyone in the industry," Truist Securities Managing Director C. Patrick Scholes said in a report.
Last month, the company announced the appointment of John Chidsey as chief executive, replacing Harry Sommer.
