05:29 PM EDT, 09/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- NovaGold Resources ( NG ) after trade Monday said its 2025 drilling program at the Donlin Gold project in Alaska returned multiple high-grade gold intercepts.
The company said the results help support the next phase of technical work and renew momentum toward completing a Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) "of what would be, at present estimates of scale and grade, one of America's largest gold mines".
Recent drill results have confirmed consistent mineralization, with some standout intervals reaching as high as 23.49 grams per tonne of gold, the company said.
Following a $1 billion agreement with Paulson Advisers, the 2025 drill program has shifted focus to converting existing resources and conducting geotechnical work to support the BFS. As part of that process, a request for proposal for the feasibility study has been sent to top engineering firms. A final selection is expected in the fourth quarter, the company added.
NovaGold shares closed down $0.08 to $9.29 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
