Novartis Q2 Core Earnings, Sales Increase; Launches $10 Billion Share Buyback Plan

04:48 AM EDT, 07/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Novartis ( NVS ) reported Q2 core earnings Thursday of $2.42 per share, up from $1.97 a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $2.35.

Net sales for the quarter ended June 30 were $14.05 billion, up from $12.51 billion a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected $14.07 billion.

For 2025, the pharmaceutical company lifted its core operating income growth projection to the low teens from the low double-digits previously expected, while maintaining a high single-digit sales growth guidance.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect EPS of $8.68 on revenue of $54.77 billion for the year.

Meanwhile, the company also said it is initiating a $10 billion share repurchase program, which is expected to expire at the end of 2027.
