Novo Nordisk CEO Says Laid Off Employees Mostly Notified
Oct 31, 2025 5:10 AM

07:46 AM EDT, 10/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) Chief Executive Maziar Mike Doustdar said Friday in a social media post on his verified LinkedIn account that employees impacted by layoffs "in the vast majority of our geographies" have been notified that they will lose their jobs, though the pace has varied in accord with local regulations.

Doustdar said the biopharmaceutical firm was "undergoing a company-wide transformation" which has eliminated "thousands of roles."

The reductions are part of a planned 9,000 global job cuts, a Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) spokesperson told MT Newswires in early October, adding that it would not give further details out of respect for the employees.
