Novo Nordisk Gets European Commission Approval for Higher-Dose Wegovy Injectable

09:25 AM EST, 02/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) said Tuesday the European Commission has approved a 7.2 mg once-weekly maintenance dose of Wegovy for adults with obesity.

The approval, based on positive opinion from the European Medicines Agency's scientific committee, is intended to provide another option for adults who need more weight loss after being on the 2.4 mg dose, Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) said.
