05:33 AM EST, 11/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) said Monday it launched once weekly Wegovy in Hong Kong, now available at private clinics and certain pharmacies.

The medicine is for adults with obesity, adults who are overweight with at least one related condition, and adolescents 12 and older, the company said.

The launch targets a high need in the city, where over 30% of adults are obese and about 20% of secondary school students are overweight or obese, Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) said.

Wegovy is used alongside a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity, and is the first once weekly prescription weight loss drug approved for adolescents in Hong Kong, the company added.
