NRG Energy Prices $1.88 Billion Debt Offering

03:58 AM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- NRG Energy ( NRG ) said late Wednesday it has priced an offering of about $1.88 billion of senior notes.

The offering consists of $925 million of 6% senior notes due 2033 and $950 million of 6.25% senior notes due 2034.

The offering, which is set to close on Oct. 30, was increased from a previously announced offering of $1.5 billion.

NRG said it plans to use net proceeds from the offering along with other debt and cash on hand, to pay the tender price for its subsidiary APX's debt and to repurchase all of NRG's 6.625% senior notes due 2027.
