NRG Energy to Repurchase About $251 Million Senior Notes Due 2048

10:41 AM EDT, 04/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- NRG Energy ( NRG ) said Wednesday it has agreed to repurchase roughly $251 million total principal amount of its current 2.75% convertible senior notes due 2048 under separate, privately negotiated deals with certain holders.

The company intends to close the notes repurchases around April 18, NRG said.

Upon closing, roughly $232 million total principal amount of convertible notes will remain outstanding, the company said.

Shares of NRG Energy ( NRG ) were up 4% in recent Wednesday trading.
