July 30 (Reuters) - The head of the National
Transportation Safety Board sharply criticized U.S. officials
for failing to act before the Jan. 29 collision of an U.S. Army
helicopters with an American Airlines ( AAL ) regional jet in
Washington that killed 67 people.
NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy said on Wednesday the Federal
Aviation Administration failed to act on warnings from air
traffic control staff and instead transferred managers.
