07:35 AM EDT, 04/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The US National Transportation Safety Board said Wednesday it has opened an investigation into the March 3 fatal crash between a Ford (F) Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle and two stopped cars on a highway in Philadelphia.
The NTSB said on its website that the two stationary cars were struck from behind by the Ford. The Mach-E is an electric SUV equipped with BlueCross driver-assist features, according to Ford.
The agency said it is investigating in coordination with the Pennsylvania State Police, Reuters reported Wednesday. The NTSB said last month it was investigating a fatal Feb. 24 crash near San Antonio in which another Mach-E using the driver assistance system struck a stationary vehicle.
Ford did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
