11:27 AM EDT, 03/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nucor ( NUE ) said Wednesday it agreed to supply Econiq-RE to Mercedes-Benz for the production of models at the car manufacturer's Tuscaloosa, Alabama, plant.

Econiq-RE consists of certified low-embodied carbon materials produced with 100% renewable energy and markedly reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional steel manufacturing methods, Nucor ( NUE ) added.

Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
