10:56 AM EDT, 09/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nutriband ( NTRB ) said Tuesday it has received a notice of allowance from the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration for a patent application covering its Aversa abuse-deterrent transdermal technology.
Nutriband's ( NTRB ) abuse-deterrent transdermal technology features an aversive agent coating designed to use taste aversion to prevent oral abuse and accidental exposure to transdermal opioid and stimulant patches, according to a company statement.
Nutriband ( NTRB ) said it is collaborating with Kindeva Drug Delivery to develop Aversa Fentanyl, which integrates Nutriband's ( NTRB ) Aversa abuse-deterrent transdermal technology with Kindeva's FDA-approved transdermal fentanyl patch system.
Aversa Fentanyl could become the world's first and only abuse-deterrent opioid patch, with potential annual US sales estimated between $80 million and $200 million, Nutriband ( NTRB ) said.
