Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.74.

Net sales for the quarter ended March 31 were $874.6 million, compared with $740.6 million a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $864.1 million.

For Q2, the company said it expects $0.81 to $0.83 in adjusted EPS. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect $0.83.

For the full year, nVent Electric ( NVT ) said it now expects $3.22 to $3.30 in adjusted EPS, from the previous range of $3.17 to $3.27. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect $3.26.
