02:38 PM EDT, 08/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) chips worth millions of dollars were allegedly exported to China from the US illegally by two Chinese nationals who have been arrested on a federal criminal complaint, the US Justice Department said Tuesday.
From October 2022 to July 2025, Chuan Geng and Shiwei Yang, through their El Monte, California-based company ALX Solutions, exported GPUs without the required license or authorization from the US Commerce Department, the Justice Department said, citing an affidavit filed with the complaint.
Multiple media reports said the smuggled chips include Nvidia's ( NVDA ) H100 GPUs.
In an emailed statement to MT Newswires, Nvidia ( NVDA ) said it mainly sold products to well-known partners, including original equipment manufacturers.
"Even relatively small exporters and shipments are subject to thorough review and scrutiny, and any diverted products would have no service, support, or updates," an Nvidia ( NVDA ) spokesperson said.
