10:30 AM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) on Monday announced the launch of generative AI models and NIM microservices to enhance the Universal Scene Description, or OpenUSD framework to expand its use in robotics, industrial design, and engineering.
This development aims to streamline USD-based workflows and advancing the development of industrial digital twins and robotics, Nvidia ( NVDA ) said during the SIGGRAPH conference.
Nvidia's ( NVDA ) key offerings include USD Code NIM for generating OpenUSD-Python code, USD Search NIM for searching OpenUSD libraries, USD Validate NIM for checking file compatibility, new USD connectors for integrating with robotics data formats, and streaming tools for delivering OpenUSD scenes to Apple's ( AAPL ) Vision Pro.
The company is collaborating with Siemens to integrate OpenUSD pipelines with Simcenter simulation technologies, facilitating high-fidelity, real-time visualization of complex simulation data, Nvidia ( NVDA ) said, adding that it has released the OpenUSD Exchange SDK, allowing developers to create custom USD data connectors.
