10:57 AM EDT, 07/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) secured a "monster win" as the US government assured that licenses for the Nvidia H20 GPU's sale in China will be granted, Wedbush Securities said in a note to clients Tuesday.
The tariff war with China halted H20 sales and Wedbush said this cost Nvidia ( NVDA ) about $8 billion in quarterly sales. However, Nvidia ( NVDA ) Chief Executive Jensen Huang is aware that China would get an edge in the artificial intelligence arms race if the US government stops the sale of Nvidia's ( NVDA ) H20 chips, Wedbush said.
"For the Trump Administration its well known one of the biggest chips on this poker table with China is Nvidia GPU chips and allowing the company to sell its chips back into the country should help trade negotiations between the two countries," said Wedbush.
According to the investment firm, Nvidia ( NVDA ) getting back its China market returns about 15% of the company's total revenue and this could still increase significantly in the coming years.
Shares of Nvidia ( NVDA ) were up more than 4% in recent Tuesday trading.
