12:20 PM EDT, 08/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) is likely to report record second-quarter results amid robust demand for data center processors and its Blackwell generative artificial intelligence system, Tigress Financial Intelligence said Monday.
Wall Street is gearing up for what Tigress described as the most closely watched quarterly earnings of the season, due out after the market closes on Wednesday. Shares of Nvidia ( NVDA ), which last month became the first public company in the world to reach $4 trillion in market capitalization, have surged 35% so far this year.
Tigress expects Nvidia ( NVDA ) to report fiscal second-quarter earnings of $1.01 per share on revenue of $46 billion, up about 49% and 53% year over year, respectively. The current consensus on FactSet is for adjusted EPS of $1.01 and sales of $46.05 billion.
Last week, Oppenheimer issued an upbeat forecast for Nvidia's ( NVDA ) second-quarter results, projecting non-GAAP EPS of $1.02 on revenue of $46 billion.
Tigress said the data center segment is likely to contribute $41 billion to overall revenue for the quarter, including $20 billion from Blackwell.
"The key will also be (Chief Executive Jensen Huang) commentary on AI processor demand, which he continues to highlight as unprecedented with no letup in sight, and expectations of a significant increase in revenue and earnings growth guidance," Tigress Chief Market Strategist Ivan Feinseth said in the note.
Investors will also be looking for updates on China's market trends, Feinseth said.
In April, the US government informed the chipmaker about the requirement for a new license to export its H20 chips to China. The company said last month that it was filing applications to resume sales of the H20 graphics processing units in China and that it had received assurance from Washington that licenses would be granted.
Huang said on Friday that Nvidia ( NVDA ) was in talks with the US government about shipping a more advanced chip to China, CNBC reported. Earlier in August, Nvidia ( NVDA ) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) reportedly agreed to give 15% of their AI chip sales in China to the US government, as part of a deal to get export licenses.
"Nvidia ( NVDA ) will continue to experience accelerating revenue growth and market share gains driven by its dominant position in AI infrastructure, rapid adoption of its next-generation Blackwell chips, and expansion into new markets, including autonomous vehicles and industrial AI," Feinseth wrote.
