Nvidia to Invest $2 Billion in Nebius to Boost AI Cloud Collaboration
Mar 11, 2026 9:37 AM

12:01 PM EDT, 03/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) will invest $2 billion in Nebius ( NBIS ) to develop and deploy hyperscale cloud for the artificial intelligence market, the companies said Wednesday.

Chipmaker Nvidia received a warrant to purchase about 21.1 million class A ordinary shares of the AI cloud company, according to a Nebius ( NBIS ) filing.

Nebius ( NBIS ) said it plans to use the proceeds of the private placement to develop full-stack AI cloud and build greenfield data centers.

"Nebius ( NBIS ) is building an AI cloud designed for the agentic era, fully integrated from silicon to software and powered by Nvidia's ( NVDA ) next-generation accelerated compute," Nvidia ( NVDA ) Chief Executive Jensen Huang said in a joint statement. "Together, we are scaling the cloud to meet the surging global demand for intelligence."

Nasdaq-listed shares of Nebius ( NBIS ) were advancing by 13% in Wednesday trade. Nvidia ( NVDA ) was up 0.5%.

The enhanced partnership entails Nebius' ( NBIS ) early adoption of Nvidia's ( NVDA ) accelerated computing platform to help it deploy more than 5 gigawatts of capacity by the end of 2030, the statement said. The companies agreed to work together on AI factory design, inference and AI infrastructure deployment.

The deal with Nebius ( NBIS ) is the latest in a series of investments by Nvidia ( NVDA ), including in CoreWeave (CRWV), Intel (INTC) and Synopsys (SNPS). Nvidia ( NVDA ) last year committed to invest $10 billion in Amazon-backed (AMZN) AI startup Anthropic.

Earlier this month, Nebius ( NBIS ) said that it has received city council approval for an AI factory in Independence, Missouri, with a potential capacity of up to 1.2 gigawatts. The project will be the company's largest US AI factory to date, it said.

"Nebius ( NBIS ) has been built for AI since day one -- not adapted from a general-purpose cloud, but designed for what developers actually need," Nebius ( NBIS ) CEO Arkady Volozh said Wednesday. "Now with Nvidia ( NVDA ), we are extending that throughout the stack -- from gigawatt-scale AI factories to inference and software -- as we build one of the first and largest clouds for all AI builders everywhere."
