03:32 PM EST, 11/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia's ( NVDA ) transition to using chips found in smartphones in its artificial intelligence servers and structural factors could double advanced memory prices by the end of 2026, Counterpoint Research said in a Wednesday report.
Nvidia ( NVDA ) pivoted to using low-power double data rate memory modules to trim AI server power costs and manage error correction at the CPU level, according to the report.
Counterpoint said it forecasts memory prices likely to rise 50% from current levels through Q2 of 2026 reflecting chip shortages.
The chip shortage, which is currently affecting low-priced consumer electronics products like budget smartphones, could overwhelm already stretched supply chains, Counterpoint stated.
