LONDON, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Ocado ( OCDGF ), the British
online supermarket and technology group, on Thursday named Adam
Warby as its chair from Dec. 1, succeeding Rick Haythornthwaite.
Warby is a veteran of the technology sector. He is currently
chair of NASDAQ-listed advisory group Heidrick & Struggles
International ( HSII ) and is a previous chair of Swiss software
firm SoftwareOne Holding. He has also worked for Microsoft and
IBM.
Ocado ( OCDGF ) said Warby would join as a non-executive director on
Nov. 1.
Shares in the group have lost over half their value this
year. However, in July, Ocado ( OCDGF ) did raise its margin guidance for
its 2023/24 year.
CEO and co-founder Tim Steiner said Warby was joining at an
important moment in the group's development with its technology
now live with 11 of its 13 partners globally.
