08:51 AM EDT, 06/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- OceanaGold (OGC.TO) said Wednesday that it extended the strike length at the Wharekirauponga project in New Zealand based on the results of seven drill holes from its exploration and resource conversion program.
Highlights include 4.0 meters at 43.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 8.1 meters at 11.8 g/t gold and 5.9 meters at 14.7 g/t gold.
"Gold mineralization continues to increase in scale and is now defined over a strike length of more than 1.4 kilometers, including a further 240 meters to the south of previously intercepted mineralization, and remains open in all directions," said Gerard Bond, OceanaGold's president and CEO.
Wharekirauponga is located 10 kilometers north of OcenaGold's Waihi operation.
"The expansion of Wharekirauponga underscores its position as a key asset in our portfolio and highlights the exciting role it will play in shaping the future of OceanaGold and shareholder returns," Bond said.
The company said its drilling campaign continues with three rigs targeting additional step outs, resource extension, resource conversion and geotechnical drilling.
OceanaGold's share price fell 5.5% on Tuesday to $19.32 on the TSX.
