04:40 PM EDT, 08/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- OceanaGold ( OCANF ) on Friday reported a contractor working at its Didipio Mine in the Philippines died after sustaining serious head injuries last month.

The company, which reported a fatality at the same mine in June, previously said in its second-quarter results that the worker was seriously hurt in attempting to remove a metal blockage from a jaw crusher in late July.

"Despite medical efforts and care, he recently passed away in hospital," it said.

There has been no impact to production as a result of this event, the miner added.

OceanaGold ( OCANF ) shares closed up $0.03 to $3.31 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
