September 2026 as end date to period of no layoffs or plant

closures in a story published on March 15.)

TOKYO, March 15 (Reuters) - Japan's Nippon Steel ( NISTF )

said on Friday that under its proposed takeover of U.S.

Steel there would be no layoffs and no plant closures as a

result of the transaction.

Nippon Steel ( NISTF ) said in the statement it is progressing through

regulatory review of the deal and determined to see it through.
