06:33 AM EDT, 09/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Oklo ( OKLO ) is well-positioned to benefit from the Trump administration's focus on nuclear energy to power the artificial intelligence revolution in the US, according to Wedbush Securities.
The brokerage cited confidence in Oklo's ( OKLO ) nuclear growth strategy, especially with the push for nuclear energy in the US now underway, it said in a Sunday client note. The nuclear technology firm is "very well" placed for the next wave of spending, growth and regulatory approval, Wedbush analysts, including Daniel Ives, wrote in the note.
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to strengthen the US nuclear energy leadership and facilitate increased deployment of new nuclear reactor technologies. The order represents a substantial tailwind for the industry, with Oklo ( OKLO ) being one of the main beneficiaries of increasing government support, as Trump looks to stay ahead of China in the global AI arms race, according to Wedbush.
The brokerage maintained its outperform rating on Oklo's ( OKLO ) stock and lifted its 12-month price target on the company to $150 from $80. Oklo's ( OKLO ) shares have soared nearly 519% so far this year, although the stock was down 2.8% in Monday's most recent premarket activity
Earlier in September, Oklo ( OKLO ) disclosed plans to develop, construct and operate a nuclear fuel recycling facility in Tennessee, representing the first phase of an advanced fuel center through investment of up to $1.68 billion.
Last month, Oklo ( OKLO ) announced that it was selected for two reactor pilot projects, while its Atomic Alchemy unit was awarded one project under the US Department of Energy's reactor pilot program.
"Oklo ( OKLO ) continues to position itself to emerge as a strategic winner in this market to ensure the US remains the epicenter of advanced nuclear energy to power the AI Revolution," Ives said in the note.
Wedbush believes there is a "massive acceleration" opportunity for companies, including Oklo ( OKLO ), that deploy small modular reactors to enter the UK and meet the country's growing power needs as it looks to support its own AI initiatives, given it has a relatively small number of nuclear reactors built out. The UK recently signed several nuclear deals with the US, and announced plans to slash the licensing timeline to two years from three to four years, the brokerage said.
Small modular reactors provide an alternative source of energy, and could allow Oklo ( OKLO ) to expand its reach into new regions amid "AI demanding significant power capacity," Wedbush added.
