09:00 AM EDT, 03/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Oklo ( OKLO ) said Tuesday it signed an agreement with the Department of Energy to support the design and operation of its initial reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory, alongside receiving a materials license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for its Atomic Alchemy unit.
The federal energy department approved the safety design framework for the planned fast-fission power plant, prompting the technology firm to request a preliminary safety analysis review, the company said.
The separate regulatory license authorizes the company's unit to process and distribute specific radioactive isotopes, including radium, to create feedstock for medical applications, Oklo ( OKLO ) said.
The recovered materials will be handled at a regional radiochemistry laboratory to help develop systems for a planned multi-reactor production facility, it said.
Shares of the company were up more than 7% in Tuesday premarket activity.
