05:27 PM EDT, 07/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- ON Semiconductor (ON) said late Tuesday that it completed the acquisition of SWIR Vision Systems, a provider of technology that extends the detectable light spectrum to see through objects and capture images.

The patented technology will "significantly enhance" ON's intelligent sensing product portfolio, paving the way for further growth in key markets such as industrial, automotive, and defense.

SWIR's team will join ON's intelligent sensing product portfolio but continue to operate in North Carolina.

The acquisition is unlikely to have "any meaningful impact on ON Semiconductor's "near to midterm financial outlook."
