OnePlus, which emerged as India’s top smartphone seller in the premium category, will close its offices in countries including the Philippines and other regions, the report said quoting Vikas Agarwal, the company's general manager for India operations as saying.
The move will also be significant as it will be OnePlus’s first R&D facility outside China, the report added. In addition, it will also nearly double the employ base of the firm in the country.
The shift will also aid the firm in giving more focus to its Indian operations. The company which is more popular in the country even than its home market will look to exploit the Indian market at a time when the Chinese mobile market is seeing steady decline, according to the report.
