(Reuters) - Walt Disney ( DIS ) said on Friday that Oracle chief executive Safra Catz is departing the entertainment company's board after six years.
Catz was elected to Disney's ( DIS ) board in 2017 along with Illumina Inc's ( ILMN ) former CEO Francis deSouza, at a time when the company was looking to acquire Twenty-First Century Fox Inc's media empire.
Disney ( DIS ) CEO Robert Iger said Catz "has provided invaluable insight that has helped shape (Disney's ( DIS )) long-term strategic planning amid a rapidly changing technological landscape."
Following Catz's departure, Disney's ( DIS ) board will be down to 11 members.
