08:06 AM EDT, 07/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Oracle (ORCL) has signed an agreement with OpenAI to develop 4.5 gigawatts of additional Stargate data center capacity in the US, the Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) startup said Tuesday.

Combined with the Stargate I site in Texas, the additional partnership with Oracle will generate up to more than 5 gigawatts of Stargate AI data center capacity under development, enough to run over two million chips, OpenAI said.

OpenAI estimates that building, developing and operating the additional 4.5 GW of data center capacity will create over 100,000 jobs across construction and operations roles in the US.

Additionally, OpenAI said its partnership with SoftBank is also progressing with strong momentum.
