06:42 AM EST, 03/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Orla Mining Ltd. ( ORLA ) on Thursday provided an update on its exploration activities at the South Railroad project in Nevada, saying it drilled oxide mineralization outside projected open pits.
Results indicated potential expansion of resources at the Pinion and Dark Star deposits through new oxide intersections, with highlights of 0.72 g/t gold over 112.7 meters at Pinion and 3.53 g/t gold over 36.6 meters at Dark Star.
Orla also noted successful infilling and metallurgical drilling with confirmation of modeled grade and continuity of mineralization, with intersections that include 2.20 g/t gold over 163.1 meters and 2.50 g/t gold over 88.1 meters.
"The recent positive drill results outside the projected open pits highlight the project's low exploration maturity and significant growth potential," said Sylvain Guerard, Orla's senior vice president of exploration. "In 2024, we will focus on expanding resources at existing deposits and continuing exploration across the property, which could soon be expanded to include Pony Creek."
Orla at last look gained 1.6% in US pre-market trading on Thursday.
